Terms of Service

1. Who you are agreeing with

BidParser ("BidParser", "we", "us") is a service operated by Bucket 6 Inc., a registered trade name of Orange Chair Corporation, a corporation organised under the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, with its principal place of business at 117 Logan Avenue, Geneva, Illinois 60134.

Orange Chair Corporation is the contracting party. "Bucket 6 Inc." is the name under which it operates its software business, and is the name you will see on receipts and correspondence.

By creating an account, accessing, or using BidParser, you agree to these Terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company, and "you" means that company.

If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. What the service is

BidParser provides access to historical construction bid data published by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) and the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority (ISTHA), together with tools that search, adjust, and summarise that data — including inflation adjustment, regional cost factors, confidence scoring, and an estimate builder.

3. What the service is not

This is the most important term in this agreement. Read it.

BidParser reports what contracts were awarded for in the past. It does not predict what any future bid will cost, what any bid should be, or whether any bid will win.

  • We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of the data. It originates with IDOT and ISTHA. We ingest what those agencies publish. Where an agency publishes an error, republishes a correction, or omits a letting, our data reflects that.
  • Outputs are estimates, not professional advice. Inflation adjustment, regional factors, and confidence scores are calculated from published formulas and historical distributions. They are analytical aids. They are not engineering advice, not a professional cost estimate, and not a substitute for the judgment of a licensed professional.
  • You are responsible for every bid you submit. You must independently verify any number before relying on it. We are not liable for a bid that was too high, too low, lost, or unprofitable.

Nothing in the service creates an engineer-client, advisor-client, or fiduciary relationship.

4. Accounts

You must provide accurate registration information and keep it current. You are responsible for all activity under your account and for the confidentiality of your credentials. Notify us promptly via https://bidparser.com/contact if you believe your account has been compromised.

Accounts are for a single organisation. You may not share credentials with anyone outside your organisation.

5. Trial

New accounts receive a 7-day free trial. No payment method is required to start it, and nothing is charged when it ends.

When the trial expires, access is suspended until you subscribe. Your saved estimates and data are retained per section 11 and become available again when you subscribe.

6. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation

Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or annually, through our payment processor Stripe. By subscribing you authorise recurring charges to your payment method until you cancel.

  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period.
  • You may cancel at any time through the customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep access through the period you already paid for, and are not charged again.
  • Prices may change. We will give at least 30 days' notice before a change affects your renewal, and you may cancel before it takes effect.
  • Failed payments may result in suspension. Stripe retries on its own schedule.

Refunds are governed by the Refund Policy, incorporated into these Terms.

7. Acceptable use

You may use BidParser for your own business purposes: preparing bids and estimates, research, and analysis. You may export data for use in your own work product.

You may not:

  • resell, redistribute, sublicense, or republish the data or any substantial extract as a competing dataset or product;
  • scrape, crawl, or use automated means to extract data in bulk beyond the interface and export features we provide;
  • share your account with, or provide access to, anyone outside your organisation;
  • reverse engineer the service, or attempt to derive our pricing, weighting, or scoring methodology other than from what we publish;
  • use the service to build a competing product;
  • interfere with the service's operation or security, or attempt to access another customer's data.

We may suspend an account that violates this section.

8. Underlying data and intellectual property

The raw award and bid records originate in public records published by IDOT and ISTHA and are not claimed as our property.

Our compilation, normalisation, correction, enrichment, and presentation of that data — together with the software, pricing engine, confidence methodology, interface, and documentation — are owned by Orange Chair Corporation and protected by intellectual property law.

You retain ownership of the estimates and project data you create. You grant us only the licence needed to host, process, back up, and display it to you in order to operate the service.

9. Availability

We aim to keep the service available but do not commit to a specific uptime level. The service may be unavailable for maintenance, updates, or reasons outside our control. Data is updated after each letting as agencies publish it; we do not guarantee a specific update interval.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Orange Chair Corporation WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, LOST BIDS, LOST BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, OR COST OVERRUNS, ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE — EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.

OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions; in those, the exclusions apply to the fullest extent permitted.

11. Termination and data retention

You may stop using the service and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account for breach of these Terms, for non-payment, or if required by law.

After cancellation or termination we retain your account data so that you can reactivate later without losing work. We do not delete it on a fixed schedule.

You may request deletion of your account and its data at any time via https://bidparser.com/contact, and we will action it. If we later adopt a fixed retention period, we will say so here before it takes effect.

You may export your estimates and price history to CSV at any time while your subscription is active. Export before you cancel.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. For material changes we will give notice by email or in-product before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that constitutes acceptance. The effective date at the top always reflects the current version.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Illinois, and both parties consent to that jurisdiction.
